I'm a photographer and designer in Seattle, Washington. I recently moved to the PNW from Washington, DC and have been enjoying getting to know the area. I am available for portrait and engagement sessions, as well as commissions, weddings and other events.

Carrie aka @sweatinginstyle is currently on Mt. Baker doing a 6-day mountaineering training with @alpineascents and will be climbing to the summit of Rainier this weekend if all goes according to plan. She’s been training for months and months, hiking with a heavy-ass backpack (often 40-60+lbs), trail running, strength training, stair climbing, experimenting with dehydrated foods and breaking in a ton of new gear. Today she’s learning crevasse rescues and stuff that I hope she’ll never have to use, but I guess it’s good to be prepared. She’s always mesmerized by Rainier when it’s in view, no matter how many times she sees it out, to the point where I’m afraid she’s going to crash the car one day looking at it, but I’m really proud of her and all the work she’s put in to accomplish this goal she’s been talking about for a long while now. I saw someone today say summitting Rainier is the toughest thing they’ve ever done... and at first I thought oh, I hope this isn’t tougher than she thinks or more than she could handle, but then immediately think I’ve seen her run marathons and trail marathons and take on dudes twice her size on the soccer field and ride her bike across the freakin United States, so I’m not concerned about Carrie’s toughness. Good luck babe, you got this!

We can be better. We should be better.
These Mountain Goats are kinda scary due to their size and very sharp horns. They seem pretty comfortable around people though, as they will walk right up to a couple feet away. You don’t ever hear of attacks or anything, but it’s still unsettling to know that if it wanted to, it could jab those horns right through your neck or heart or wherever. We encountered one last year in Glacier NP, and it just walked by us on the trail. I slipped stepping away from it and startled it for a second and my heart dropped, but then he kept moving along. I remember hearing back then that they were not really a threat. I did some reading this morning about one goat in Olympic NP that gored a guy and killed him, supposedly unprovoked and the goat stood over the guys body for an hour or so as like a display of dominance. Apparently that was an anomaly, and they shot that goat, but it’s always in the back of your mind that this could happen to you to. By the way, “they” say you should run away if one gets aggressive. It could catch up to you but it’s not going to hunt you like a predator, just chase you off if they feel threatened. But even that is extremely rare. A lot of the goats this weekend had a kid with them, making it a little more stressful not knowing if that might make parent goats more protective or defensive. There was a point where I walked between two big goats on the right, and another big one with a baby on the left. It was kinda scary, and @soyouresayingtheresachance was behind me and didn’t follow my lead, lol. I know that’s a thing with bears, but I felt like these goats were used to people enough to not get alarmed at my passing through, and it was fine (for me). Josh didn’t follow and apparently they circled him a few times. There was another tense moment when one snuck up behind us as we took a break on the edge of a small cliff to eat and drink a beer, but he just looked at us and walked away. Seems they are mostly just curious more than anything. What’s the point of all this? I don’t know... I’m procrastinating going to the store. These goats are awesome and nerve-wracking and it was a great experience to be so close and immersed in their habitat 🐐
Thru-hiked the Enchantments and all I got were these pics and pain all over.💀💀💀 Instagram isn’t great for wide images, but I feel like it the only way to really get a sense of the otherworldly landscapes up in the mountains. And IG only lets you post 10 at a time, but I could add another 20 or so.
Was going to caption this “It’s lit fam” but that was too dumb Also, I lost my watch down here about two years ago. Anyone find an @MVMT with a white face and brown band? I could have done one of this super sweet hand reaching out pics showing the watch in a cool place but I guess it wasn’t very well-made because the pin kept popping out. #ad
